The History of Psychology
While studying IB history, I've noticed that there are three major topics in the academic world, or rather the scholarly world, which people come to be intimately familiar with. While it's difficult to find a common thread between these topics, it is not impossible to find some kind of correspondence between them. These three topics are: (I) the history of psychology; (ii) the history of psychiatry; and (iii) the history of the study of the human mind.
When I was an undergraduate student, there was a section in my course called 'The Psychology of Civilization'. As a history student, I really enjoyed this class because of the inter-disciplinary and inter-cultural nature of the lessons we learned. While the general topic of psychology remained universal, there were several such scholars as Oscar E. Friedman, Thomas M. Gross, David Coleridge, Leon Festinger, and Alfred C. Kornhauser among others who contributed to the 'one philosophy' of psychology as a field of study.
